Be Smart

The biggest mistake a lot of people do when it comes to wedding-related-financial-planning is to perceived the wedding to be the happy ending to a love story when really, its a beginning for a life-long commitment. 

They tend to throw all their effort and money to accomplished this. Please people. Be wise. Think deep. Stop relating yourself to all the movies and drama series that you have been watching repeatedly. You are not Cinderella. And you certainly aren't marrying Prince Charming. 

Marriage doesn't ends when the wedding reception is over. In fact, as people are packing up and cleaning up the wedding hall, that's the exact point of which marks the commencement of a new chapter in one's life. Yes, it is just a new chapter - there's more to come. Having a baby opens up another chapter. Another baby and yet another chapter. Switching jobs, buying a home, upgrading your ride, moving states - these are all important part of one's life, significant enough for a new episode in his "book". 

Another common  mistake (or probably lack of knowledge) is the inability to tell apart fund-availability to affordability. If you have rm50k available in your hand, I will strongly suggest you spend no more than rm15k for your wedding. That's what I call affordability. Having rm50k does not entitle you to spend it all for a wedding. I call that stupid. What's even more stupid is to spend rm50k when you only have rm30k in hand. I call that brainless. 

Its like going for a full month road trip to Europe. Everyone dream of it. They save money that lasts them for the whole journey. Accommodations, meals, sightseeing tours, souvenirs, transportation, clothes etc. Stupid person will work their butt-off and when he gets enough fund, he spend it all on a first class air ticket to London. I don't need to discuss furthermore. You could guess what happen next, I supposed? 

So girls, before you even start picturing your fairy-tale wedding, please asses your affordability and be smart. Practice balance. Why spend 100% on a day that counts for only 1% of the whole journey?

Been wanting to post something here since forever. But iv been really busy lately... with... hmmm... stuffs.. Hishhhh, nampak sangat nak tipu. 

I have a lot in mind to write, but when id actually logged in to Blogger and attempted to write, the mood's just gone. Writing is not my thing anymore. (As if it was EVER my thing. Teeeeheeeee :p ) 

Lets start with the easy thing. 

New year celebration :) 

New year's eve was just lazying around with hubby, watching TV. Thought of watching countdown on TV but we both made our journey to lalaland as soon as the fireworks went off. Such an old couple aiye.. 

We started the year 2011 visiting my grandparents who came all the way from Alor Star. We then rushed to KL General Hospital to see little cousin who's one weeks old, still warded due to some complications. As always, grandpa had a glimpse of baby Ashraff and "Ok la, dah tengok, jom kita balik". Hehehhehehe. 

Short meet up. Everyone took different directions afterwards. 

Since we were in KL already, as always, its "dating day". Hik hik hik. 

Thinking the mall's gonna be empty, as everyone's still making up sleep for the late night celebration the day before, we headed to One Utama. Boy we were sooooooooo wrong. It was busy as always. Probably busier. Theres a hell of a crowd in The Curve too. Determined to proceed with the "date", we took a turn and went to the not-so-posh mall, Tropicana City. That place is never busy i guess.. Good enough for us :) 

This is when things get excited! No dirty thinking please. 

I had so much new year's gift! Weeeeeeeeeeeehoooooooooooo~!! 

Went into a camera shop, thinking of just showing hubby the camera I wanted to buy, to replace my DSLR I sold two months back. Least that I know they had a promotion that day. A lot cheaper price then other places I've been. So yeah.... I GOT MYSELF SONY NEX-5 y'all~!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, while thinking whether or not I should get the camera, we went coffee-date at Starbucks :) Of which, I had the last stamp on the starbucks card and yeah, I GOT THE STARBUCKS PLANNER! Not that exciting I know, but I was excited anywaysssssss. Hehehehe. Gave the planner to hubby since I havent been using a planner the moment I was unemployed. 

With the purchase of camera, they gave a free 25-pages printed photo album. Lucky I had my micro-mini USB thumbdrive everywhere, we had our honeymoon photos printed. Weeeeeeeehoooooooooooooo~!!! 

Hubby got himself a new shorts for working out. Glad he found one. A lil expensive but its not easy finding a size for american-built here in Malaysia. To actually scored one was a bliss. YEAY!

So yeah, new year was good :) 

p/s: Lil boy's coming in less than a month. YEAY! New toy to play with :D

Dress up

I just thought of a better way describing myself with fashion - dressing up and such. As referring to my previous post, what I really intended to say was,

I'd rather be under-dressed than I am to be over-dressed.

So.... BF in motherhood term means breastfeed. And yes, I only knew that recently. Hehehehehehhe. 

For those who doesn't know, let me do some enlightenment :D 

You know how people are very health conscious nowadays. Going towards environmentally-friendly society. Recycling, energy saving bulbs, hybrid cars, Earth Hour, and so forth. 

Even with baby products (again, i only knew this) there's a range of products which are chemical-free, toxic-free, made of natural resources. There's cloth diaper (CD) with is basically a technologically-advanced version of lampin-putih-yg-masam-zaman-kite-kecik2-dulu. This definitely reduces non-biodegradable waste of the normal disposable diapers. 

Anyways.....

The main point of this entry is on exclusive breastfeeding. Another step of my generation towards all-natural way of living. Most hospitals promotes exclusive BF for new moms. They even have guidebook on how to continue exclusive BF if mommies need to go back to work after maternity leave. This includes products on express milk storage.

Exclusive BF as recommended by WHO and UNICEF:

• Initiation of breastfeeding within the first hour of life
• Exclusive breastfeeding – that is the infant only receives breastmilk without any additional food or drink, not even water
• Breastfeeding on demand – that is as often as the child wants, day and night
• No use of bottles, teats or pacifiers

One thing that many people doesn't know is that baby doesn't need anything else when breastfed except the mommies' milk, and when i said nothing else, that means NOTHING ELSE. Not even air suam. Yes, no water, people!

When I Was Small..

I was stalking some cousins and second-cousins on facebook. Wasn't interested to add them as friends - I don't approve/add kids on fb. FYI, "kids" in this context means those without IC and still studying for UPSR. I'm keen to know what kids do on fb. They don't go anywhere without supervision - so they can't upload photos of where they go everyday. They don't drive. They can't watch cool movies cos they're minors.

Anyway....

That has got nothing to do with what caught me today.

I saw this one cousin's photos. She's a kid. She's 9 i think. And she has one album of which she puts on photos of her growing up. Its called "Gambar Semasa Kecil".

Like hellooooooooooooooooooooo!!! U are masih kecil!!
